Good questions.

Can I buy Green Hour matcha now?

Not yet. We're still confirming our supplier and our price, so nothing is for sale. Join the list and we'll e-mail you when the first tins are ready, with a 10% code.

What do I get when I join the list?

Today: our 12 printable recipe cards (PDF), right after you sign up. At launch: one e-mail with your 10% code. We don't sell your e-mail.

Will you e-mail me a lot?

No. For now we don't send any automatic e-mails at all. The next one you get from us is the launch e-mail with your code.

Where will it come from?

We're still confirming our supplier. Before we sell a single tin, we'll tell you where the tea was grown and where it was packed.

Where will you ship?

The United States first. Canada later.

How much matcha goes in a latte?

About 2 g, one level teaspoon, for a 16 oz iced latte. Use 3 g for a bolder one. Our free latte builder gives exact amounts for your cup and milk.

How much caffeine is in matcha?

It depends on the matcha. Published measurements range from about 19 to 44 mg of caffeine per gram, so a 2 g serving has roughly 40 to 90 mg. A cup of coffee has about 95 mg. We'll publish the figure for our own matcha before launch.

My matcha tastes bitter. What did I do?

Usually the water is too hot, or the scoop too big. Use 175°F (80°C), not boiling, and one level teaspoon. Sift, then whisk fast in a W. No whisk? Shake it with cold water in a jar for 20 seconds.

Why “Green Hour”?

In 19th-century Paris, l'heure verte was the hour for absinthe. Ours comes over ice, after class, and you'll remember all of it.
